Photographer’s Note
We hired this boat to take us to this area of the river to witness the circadian flight of the bats where millions go out at dusk. The boat was quite big. It can accomodate 20 persons. The boatman was being accompanied by his two sons. They stayed on their boat as we patiently waited the bats to come out. I can only guess what were they talking about... :)

Good shot. Having a boat like that in a composition always works. The trick is that it has been done very often, but what makes your shot different is the inclusion of the people. Without them, it would be somewhat of a cookie cutter shot, with them, it is much better.

I like the way you took this shot, the angle is very good and the funny note..I hope the bats had come out...

well composed and composition is the best part of this pic. using boats, and your POV is nice.
since your human characters are a bit away from you, they could have been more prominent with the light, but I'm not sure if light could have been enhanced, given your composition with the half sky to the left.
thanks, Arnab

lovely shot Rye,
The angle you took it is fantastic, you create a lot of depth, very good composing and good behind, great job I like it.

Hi Rye! At 1st glance, I thought this was in Palawan or somewhere south of the Phils; is this along the stretch of the Cagayan river? I agree with the other critiques, the angle in which you shot the boat is great, and the people add some 'life' on the compo. Your lighting is sufficient, and clarity is good as well! It's nice to see a different sight of Cagayan! Good work. rgds.

aaahhh wonderful perspective, angle and subjects -- from mother nature to the man-made boat to the creations in between. i like the way teh foreground is a bit out of focus and then focus builds up from the seats to the family. if this is cagayan, where exactly? i've heard much about its lake and would like to see it one of these days.

Interesting POV but it needs more contrast and detail to be a good one. Nice work anyway.

Great perspective Cary. Nicely composed, it leads on very well, and great background. Well balanced.
Thanks
