Photographer’s Note

When these kids saw me, they spontaneously gathered and requested I take their picture. They loved seeing the result on the LCD screen afterwards.

Too bad I didn't adjust to get a little more DOF, but I still like how it turned out.

Yes, a touch more DOF would get the kids in the front row a bit sharper. But you would also have to focus on the front row and let the DOF take care of the back row. The blurry background is just right, but would be even better cropped off. Don't be afraid to crop tightly. The expessions on the kids' faces are wonderful. This is a joyful shot! I love all the teeth and the wide smiles. Well done.

Gorgeous smiles from gorgeous kids. What a great moment it must have been. I think you could have kneeled just a bit lower to face them completely, and also get the background even less present. Better this sahort DOF than no pix at all.

this is really beautiful happy photo of kids. I agree adjusting the dof will give more focus on the front kids but despite that you have captured a very good happy scene....rgds

I miss home...

A very friendly bunch of Pinoy kids. Good capture and the DOF is not bad as you implied. As a matter of fact, it puts them in a context.

Pinoys are still the best to photographs.
