A traditional 'Chokidar' the 'Keeper' of a construction site is a relative of the construction contractor or one of the labourers. The Chokidar usually looks after valualbes at a contruction site such as cement, paint and other building materials. The Chokidar lives in either a tent erected at the site or a loosely built shack where cement is stored. For as long as the construction is on the chokidar stays there and upon completion of contruction, moves to a new site.

We saw this Chokidar at such a construction site in a newly developed residential sector in Islamabad, just the serene look at this mans face drew me to him and when I asked him if I could take a photo of him he gently posed for me, prodly guarding the bags cement piled up behind him.

I hope you like the shot.

Hello Kamran. A worth seeing picture from the world of the work and at the same time a Portrait study. The close frameworks places the important into the center. Outstanding. The photo pleases me very well. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hello Kamran,
A good & interesting portrait of this Chokidar guarding the cement. he certainly looks proud. Well done.
Regards
Santo.

Really like this shot. Well Done. Very nice and natural portrait!

A beautiful photo of this, so typically Eastern man. The relaxed position is so elegant, and also the drapeau of the shawn. In this part of the world people know how to relax, while waiting.
I like this photo very much!

Hi Kamran!
You have some great shots in your gallery and I like especially this one, with the man in his very relaxed pose.Ět`s a very good exposure with fine details at his cloth and his very interesting face.Yes he looks proud, owning these sacks of cement behind him.A great shot from a country I want to visit some day.
Greetings from Germany,
Leo

Hi Kamran, Well caught, he seems to exude the sort of dignity one might expect from a monk (or similar) rather than a humble guard. Exposure was well managed, avoiding overexposing his clothes, although his face is perhaps little dark. cheers, Steve
