Photographer’s Note
Derawar Fort is a large square fortress in Pakistan near Bahawalpur. The forty bastions of Delawar are visible for many miles in Cholistan Desert. The walls have a circumference of 1500 meters and stand up to thirty meters high.
The first fort on the site was built by Deoraj, a prince of Jaisalmer. It remained in the hands of the royal family of Jaisalmer until captured and completely rebuilt by the nawabs of Bahawalpur in 1733. In 1747, the fort slipped from the hands of the Abbasis owing to Bahawal Khan's preoccupations at Shikarpur. Nawab Mubarak Khan took the stronghold back in 1804.

the golden colors of the fort stands out well with the bright blue sky adding the richness of this capture. it is sharp and the framing is well fitted. notes are very informative, too.

Hello Irfan,
I was initally drawn to your photo because of the nice warm colors of the fort and the contrasting deep blue sky. You used the rule of thirds well and I also like the lines created by the wall itself into the distance. A very nice job of composition.

I remember your earlier picture of this fort, Irfan. That was a good picture, but this is a really great one. I like how it almost looks like a sand castle. Perfect balance between sky and sand.
