Photographer’s Note
Jahangir, one of the greatest Mughal Emperors, was buried in Shahdara, a town on the river Ravi's bank about 5 km northwest of Lahore. His tomb was built by Emperor Shah Jahan at the cost of Ten Lac Rupees in 1637 (one million Rupees, equivalent of 16,666 USD, it would be like millions, if not billions, back in 1637). The tomb is the finest ornament of Lahore and is said to be the most magnificent Mughal edifice in the Indo-Pakistan sub-continent after Taj Mahal at Agra (which was also built by Shah Jahan).
