Trekking up the Baltoro glacier towards K2.
I thought I would include some people in the frame to give an idea of the scale. We walked on the glacier for around a week, its one of the biggest in the world.
Taken with my girlfriends Ixus, as all the photos on my camera were stolen.
In the WS a similar view with no people. |

Hi David,
It was a very good idea to include some people, not just to indicate the scale but to bring some life and colours into this very brown and sterile landscape. It looks like a very tough trek on this rocky surface. On the other hand it's a spectacular scenery, very well captured by you.
Regards,
Gert
Hi David,
Indeed a good idea to show some people, otherwise I wouldn't have grasped the magnitude of these surroundings; impressive!!
Very beautiful, soft color tones as well. Love the white frame. Must have been some trip!
regards, Femke
Hi David, welcome back to TE. Spectacular and unusual scenery here, with so much rock on the glacier that you can apparently walk around on it as if it weren't ice. The people (especially in red) make a really nice accent, and the wispy clouds around the mountains add an element of mystery. I'm surprised that it was safe for you as a westerner to go into that part of Pakistan--is it not under Taliban control? Regards, Ken.
