Photographer’s Note
I have put many photos on trek earth. People have not appreciated them very much so I decided to put something different.
Polo was first played in Northern Pakistan couple of hundred years ago. It is still very popular in local communities especially in the north.
This photo is of referee in the final trophy match held in Rawalpindi Race Course. You can see the photo has beautifully captured the motion. The horseman is trying to stop the horse. If you look carefully the head is leaning down. It was won by Pakistan Airforce a latecomer and an underdog.
I kept the aperture very small as to merge the background and the foreground. The shutter speed was kept at a low 1/20s to show the motion. I also used a Tamron x2 teleconverter. So 200mm (lens) x 2 teleconverter x 1.5 (DSLR) = 600mm (total). You can see the trees smudged as the camera was pointing towards and slightly moving with the horse.
This is an experimental shot so that I can get some feedback from the trekearth users.
if you want to see a similar photo with slightly faster shutter speed please check out:

Wonderful shot. I can see great sence of movement here. Everything is blurred and that creates the big impact of this photo. Well done!
