Photographer’s Note
...and there I was, back in Pakistan... armed with all the weapons of mass photography...
It was almost impossible to pass this opportunity to capture this moment which uncovers the greatest of them all...the mystery of standing on one's legs at an old age...seems like its all about a bag of yoghurt...I'll leave it up to you to decide.

Salam Kamran. I am getting increasingly **#@!! off with this so called fraternity that is supposedly interested in the world in which we live. As long as one posts pretty pictures of castles, sunsets, fields of flowers it's all dinky dory. As far as humans are concerned, especially if they come east of the Ural Mountains, well, what can one say regarding this "foreign world", a world that for many is not in their comfort zone. let's not look at things that unite us, even if a man is wearing a turban, things like growing old, enjoying a treat- fresh yogurt. if it wasn't for the few individuals like you, I would have left long ago.As for this whimsical shot, I like it. Has he picked up a few bits of wood along the way for the stove back at home? Nice use of the light. regards. Klaudio.

I am glad to see a post by you Kamran. You have composed this in your own inimitable style...anyone else would surely mess it up! I like this portrayal. Hope things are fine in your part of the world. Praying for you and for everyone else.

Hi Kamran, Good to see an image from your trip. I like the thought behind this idea (or at least what I imagine it to be). I think the brightness of the road as made the exposure difficult as the man is a bit dark, making the texture and colour of his clothes hard to see. Think I might have been inclined to crop some of the BG and increase the brightness then mask the remaining BG (or similar...). cheers, STeve

Hello Kamran, I think photos with people in it are hard to beat, I like this old man going about his business in his natural environment, I would have loved to have seen his face but realise that more than likely it would not have been possible. Nice one.

Hello Kamran. The photo pleases me very well. It is subtly, unobstrusive, and at the same time nevertheless very impressively. Your picture shows that also everyday life photos can be expression strong and worth seeing. Very beautifully. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hello Kamran,
A picture - and a note - in your unmistakable style. It's really very simple - for someone with an eye for details such as the little plastic bag and the walking-stick. A snapshot, meaning that the background may not be perfect, but how much more I prefer these pictures of real life to all those elegant compositions of French castles.
Btw a Swedish dairy company used to promote its yoghurt with pictures and stories about very old people in the Caucasus who had been eating yoghurt all their lives.
Thanks for sharing,
Gert

Hi Kamran,
The fact that the old man is walking away and not coming towards you is already an asset for originality to break all the sequences.
Great depth and very sharp focus.
Great choice in blurring the backdrop.
TFS,

Thomas

Hello dear Kamran,
This shot carries the title of the day for me!
And now I'm off! No more computer screens for the rest of summer, but keep your shots coming, as they have always been a joy here. See you later.
Benny
