Photographer's Note
Kalash women spend the winter months when they are snowed in to their houses in the Hindu Kush mountains making eloborate clothes and jewelery. In summer they sow, weed and harvest the crops wearing these clothes. Here is an example of one. As she was in the shade on a sunny day I had to struggle with PS to even up the exposure a bit. Hopefully it doesn't look too obvious

Hello Stephen,
The picture looks beautiful.
It is a shady spot, indeed, but I like it in this case, because it makes the picture look more authentic. The colors and details of the clothes are nicely emphasized.

Hi Stephen,
It is shady, but has lovely colours and contrast. Good use of DOF.

stephen, you did it again, transforming an ordinary scene into something splendid! this traditional head-dress is not only colorful, but made culturally significant as well by your informative note. i like the colors of this image, as well as the blurring of the background. thanks for sharing!

Stunning colours, Steve! And I'd not have known that there was any digital enhancement involved: a testament to your expertise here.
Great composition with superb diagonals
