A butcher takes it easy while waiting for customers. He contemplates the large chunks of red meat hanging on hooks at the front of his shop. This is a long way from the hygene standards that we have come to expect in the supermarkets of the West - but nobody here seems to worry about it. Maybe the meat here is fresher anyway.

What a moment you caught here. The fixed look of the butcher, perhaps trying to discover the future, is one of the main things I like of this shot, of course, the pieces of meat hanging in diagonal, gives a lot to explain, but his face expresion, totally immersed in its thoughts, is really good to see. Very good moment, and very well having captured the scene without him looking at you. Good work.

It looks like he is pondering the way of all flesh, waxing philosophical on the frailness of our flesh, he is the philosophical butcher! I think it's a very good photo. The sticker with the face of a man on the fridge adds a second note to the composition, a bit more extroverted than the introverted butcher.

Hai Jonathan, a well featured everyday life photo. The photo is sharp on the man to the meat.

Good composition, with the butcher and his meat in a line. I've seen a few of these open air butcher shops in developing countries, and I've always felt a little jolted by seeing all that meat out there were flies can land on it, and there is often a dog or two hanging around to grab something that is unattended. Great 'slice of life' shot!

What a weird and mind blowing composition! Red pieces of meat hanging in front of the guy's face... and look at his face! So much to think about!
Great shot! Thanks for sharing.

A good scene or daily life. Is a nice pose and also nice see how is the place where he is working.
We cannot see how he works, but is a good capture.
Technically is also good.
Thanks for share.

Hi Jonathan, A very well capture of the “man-in-work” scene with the special decoration hanging there. I am not sure if I’d like to be his customer by looking at his dirty clothes and hard feeling looking.
A very well capture of the mood and atmosphere. I like the clarity and nice contrast.

Clever title and I like the way it so much reflects his expression - not so sure about the tilt in this one - I might be really tempted to straightenthis one up I think - but a nice clear shot!
best wishes Kev

Among your vast gallery of great photos, I picked this one, almost randomly, as I love most of them.
The composition made with these three pieces of meat hanging on in a diagonal is really good and the relaxed pose of the sellers man, well positioned bettween the flesh, adds a wonderful atmosphere. Excellent daily life shot!
