Photographer’s Note
The Kalash or Kalash, re an ethnic group of the Hindu Kush mountain range, residing in the Chitral district of the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan. They speak the Kalash language, a member of the Dardic family of Indo-Aryan Languages.
The culture of Kalash people is unique and differs drastically from the various ethnic groups surrounding them. They are polytheists and nature plays a highly significant and spiritual role in their daily life. As part of their religious tradition, sacrifices are offered and festivals held to give thanks for the abundant resources of their three valleys.Kalash mythology and folklore has been compared to that of ancient Greece, but they are much closer to Indo-Iranian (Vedic and pre-Zoroastrian) traditions.

Very nice photo. Good composition and POV. I'm very struck by how serious all the children seem. Their clothing is beautiful. This photo makes me want to learn more about them. Welcome to TE and I really hope to see more of your work, especially from this remote region of the world.
Sincerely, Kate

Hi Ali,
This is a very interesting photo. Childcare's outfits are wonderful. It's obvious they did not want to look at you taking this picture. Everything looks like going back in time at least a century.
Welcome,
Irena

Hello Alti.
And welcome to TE!
What a great photo to start your membership of this site.
I like the viewpoint you have chosen, creating a pleasing diagonal and perspective depth as the children walk into and about to go past the scene. The colours of their clothes looks great, and I love the concentration on their faces. A terrific daily life shot from a remote part of the world that perhaps I will never visit. Thanks for the interesting note.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Ali!
Very good daily scene! You captured them really well in diagonal. They seem really concentrated on their tasks. Life is probably not very easy for them. I like their expressions and the clothes.
