getting old and the background fits also to the atmosphere achieved here ... same colors as his clothes.

There is little to indicate that this photo was taken 35 years ago - a quality scan. The man may be old but the scene is timeless. The colouring of the man's clothing blends with the wall, door and window frame. We passed through Quetta in January 1975. TFS, Marlene

Its almost impossible to believe that this picture is so old. It has all the ingredients of a modern day picture with lively colors and good sharpness. Nice POV.

A very fine photo with a striking colour harmony, the old man has exactly the same colours as the building behind him. There must be an interesting message on the wall behind him, the message ends with an arrow pointing left but he is walking to the right out of the picture. Hopefully he doesn´t have to walk any more...

Good intrepretation of getting old, but i regret the framing because you should have more place in front of that man. Background is OK.
Nice to show us old pictures, meaning that you're not a beginner in photography

"getting old is no fun"! that's the saying...
Very good photo, and, taking into account the old age of the slide, - excellent quality scan!
I'm amazed at this strange combination of colours. To me these colours look very anxious: red, red, red all the way... in combination with greyish-green and bright (almost blinding) white. Well, the subject of the photo isn't telling us about a happy thing, either! Very true to life scene...
very good capture!

The next impressive picture, 35 years! it could be made now, the quality is superb. You were lucky to be able to travel so much and to make good photos. Getting old is no fun indeed. Great job.

Its amazing seeing Pakistan as it was seven years before I was born. The rich textures of the corrugated tin and the wooden door are seem very familiar, being able to see that is a gift, I thank you for that.
The contrast in this picture is very impressive and the scene seems so real.
Thanks for sharing

Magnifique composition, dans un très beau décor riche en matières. Très beau, ce vieil homme avec sa canne.

great documentary, great quality - unbelivable !
Nice and sad scenery - a fact of life to get old.
All the best in 2009

like this shot very much! There is great effect of the dominant red colour on wall, door, and old man...I also like the title and POV. Wonder about the meaning of the writing on the wall... The scan is very good, guess the original slide must have been perfect!
I personally think that this pic is timeless, it can be done today rather than more than 30 years ago. However, it is "amazing" for me as I was not even born in April 1973!

Another stunning scan ! Nice harmony of colours, from the façade to the man's clothes. The details of textures are well emphasized by the light.

I hope all's well for you in Cyprus or wherever you are now:)
This is a simple scene that makes a strong impression. The local man crossing the foreground has a very interesting presence and the decaying setting is intriguing too. There's a stunning connection between them, as he is walking, he allows the inscription to be revealed, his shadow is pointing at it too. The chromatic harmony of man and setting is amazing. Who knows whether the words on the wall mean harmony or contrast. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

marvelous use of the personage and the rustic wall covered with words in arabic. I liked the framing. yes, it isn't nice to be older, but the other option isn't the best too. haha.
