Photographer's Note

On my recent visit to Quetta, Pakistan I saw this Malang, his personality was quite impressive. I asked him if I could take his pictures, he agreed. He sang some chants, and blew his horn.
Malangs are common in South Asia, these are devotees who have given up material life, they do not own anything, life off of whatever someone gives them as they go street to street house to house wishing people well and praying for them. They are typically devotees and followers of Sufis or Saints.
There was something interesting about this malang, under his hand sown cloak was a nicely stitched clean shirt visible right at the wrist with a nice Swiss watch, along some wires hanging along those rages around the horn. Who he really was? only God knows!
