Photographer’s Note
Just a moody shot (thanks to B&W) from Passu, Upper Hunza. Something different from the trekking paradise image of Passu?
I posted the original shot in Workshop.

I like this partly because it's so at odds with my impression of Pakistan. For start it looks very cold, and the bleak mountian hut could be in any remote mountain region. Though, of course, I realise Pakistan has some very mountainous parts. Not just a moody shot, but also good TE credentials.

I like the b&w version, the mood is realy different. But I don t agree that the original is just everyday picture, at least not for us europeans. The view of this small old house is nice especially with this magnificent backgroud. Top of the mountains look overexposed.

Excellent composition and a good choice for black and white - the mountains often lack colour and b/w adds to the drama. Thanks for posting the original - it's good to compare.

For some reason when I saw the thumbnail I was expecting to see a motion blurred tree taken with long exposure. Hmmm .. maybe thatd make an interesting workshop(?). Anyways .. I like the composition and I agree that the B/W version looks much better.

I love this composition Olga, the strong majestic backdrop created by the mountains is a wonderful foil for the down at heel shack but yet does not overpower the foreground.
Nicely balanced image with the tree providing a nice vertical link over the wall and beyond.
I'll try a WS to try and add some drama as the flat B&W could be punchier.
Still a good shot, just different tastes.

Simply Superb ! A slight crop on the left side would have been excellent ...
