Karakoram aerial view, it's the most heavily glaciated part of the world outside the polar regions with roughly 40 glaciers. The Siachen glacier at 70 km, the Biafo glacier at 63 km and the Baltoro at 62 Km belong to that mountain range. Karakoram glaciers are mostly stagnating or enlarging, because many of them are covered in a layer of rubble which insulates the ice from the warmth of the sun. Some smaller glaciers of this range are called Hispar, Liligo, Gasherbrum and Saltoro. Source : wiki

One of my favorite hobbies on a plane is to take photos of the Earth. This area looks lifeless. I am very indifferent to the mountains but I like to see them from similar point of view.

Fascinating mountain peaks forming an attractive pattern of brown, black and white. By taking pictures from the air you can add Pakistan to your TE map without taking the trouble of setting foot in that problematic country :-).

It's not everyday that I fly over the Karakoram Mountains, so I appreciate the informative photo that is also skillfully managed. TFS.

lovely aerial view of the not-so-friendly looking mountains. For me Pakistan is the country that can be photographed only if flying in a plane over it, a dangerous place. I can feel it even now looking at your picture:)

Fascinating panoramic, of these towering peaks and a stunning view of as extending the glacial.
Very good light and sharpness, considering that the image is made from the plane.
I wish you a happy weekend.

this is a rare and fascinating sight which you've captured effectively despite the many obstructions. Lighting and colours are suggestive. The quality of the photo doesn't matter so much compared to the opportunity you gave us to see in a comprehensive way what's up there. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely week,
