Photographer's Note

Puhung Station in central PyangYong, North Korea (DPRK).

The PyongYang metro system is the deepest in the world - about 110 metres beneath the city. It's a loooooong escalator ride to get down to the Puhung platform.

The trains themselves are German, some of which were built in the 1950s.

Travelling the North Korean metro is a bit of a surreal experience. And made even more so by the cold war Soviet influence on the architecture.
