Photographer’s Note
Pyongyang Grand Theater in central Pyongyang. Posters outside the theater advertise upcoming productions and Arirang, a mass games involving 100,000 performers. I was lucky with this shot as just after I had taken it the flood lights illuminating the theater were switched off for the night. I wanted to take more but was forced to give up. A fat electricity pole nearer the building and just off the left hand side of the shot made framing difficult. Ideally I would have liked to point the camera a little more to the left but didn't want to include the eyesore.

A nice composition Martyn. My only suggestion would be that your shot could benefit from the use of a compensation filter to reduce the greenish glow caused by the artificial light. You got the right exposure for the posters here. Not an easy job, well done.

It was a good idea to get the both elements (the theater and the posters) in the same image – without those posters this image was just an ordinary building shot taken in some country. The green tones makes the image more interesting – and don´t bother me at all... Well done.

Framing difficulties aside, this is still a great photograph. Your note also enhances the feel of theatre. The green caste in particular is nice.
(The impact of your work would also be increased a little if you posted an image size closer to the 200k limit? At least 640x480 perhaps?)

You seem to have posted the only two pictures that were actually made from North Korean soil and both are excellent!!
Can you please tell us what it's like for a photographer to travel North Korea?
