[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Tower of Juche Idea statue in central Pyongyang. Juche is the philosophy of self reliance thought up by Kim Il Sung and the tower was apparently erected in 1982 and stands 150 meters tall. It is one of the few brightly lit structures in Pyongyang in the evening, there not being enough electricity for most street lighting. Apparently local diplomats and aid workers have nicknamed it the "glowing penis." If you look closely you will notice the tower blocks behind it are built in symmetry to enhance the view. The shot was taken from across the river in Kim Il Sung square at about 10pm, much to the interest of the police who almost arrested me for it :)

Great photo! Composition is spot on and it's very clear.
It's great that you were able to travel to North Korea. It's a place that I would love to visit some day.

Only the risk you took is worth of the two points. Moreover, the shot is almost perfect for exposition and framing, maybe a little tilted clocwise.
In fact, the rear buildings really make it appear like a Freudian complex... Thank you sincerely for showing us such pieces of truth.

A good shot but the railing in the foreground is a bit disturbing and I would crop it off.
