Photographer’s Note
I took this picture from the designated area at the designated place for taking photos, which limits how and what you can photograph for security reasons. The flag colors showed up a lot better than what I thought they would. Keep in mind that the flag and flag pole are over 9 Kilometers away. You will notice that they tower over the 5 & 6 story builds next to the flag pole.
I really want people to come away with is that this is one huge flag and flag pole. So I created 2 layers on of the Background and the second the Flag. I took all the color out background and increased the saturation on the flag.

Very interesting. you managed to convey the somber, nationalist, antiquated impression of North Korea that most of us have.

A good shot taken under difficult circumstances. And a good idea too. I remember seeing this flagpole and it really is huge.

Very impressive shot - just the right amount of focus and detail in my opinion.

I read somewhere (maybe at the best flags site, Flags of the World (FOTW), that this is the highest flag pole in the world.
I don't like the post-processing, but I enjoy very much the opportunity to see this image here.
