Lifting the dead
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| At the Pashupatinath cremation site, I sat several hours just to watch the scenes unfolding in front of my eyes, and to contemplate life and death. Here, you can see a group of relatives surrounding a strecher being lifted by two men who will carry it to a platform on the holy river Bagmati, where the body will be subsequently cremated. |

fatastic picture! the colors, the expressions, the smoke...it all adds to the very dramatic atmosphere you captured so well. i've added it to my favourites.
Boris,
La scène méritait bien une photo, la tension (l'attention aussi) est palpable...La composition est réussie...félicitations et merci pour le partage!
don't really know what to say here ... i've noticed it then left, then returned and left again ... and what else could i say while telling myself that death is a part of life and any scene picturing people's rituals connected to this passing to maybe milder dimmensions is a part of our daily life, aswell.
thank you for showing this scene to us!
