Photographer’s Note
Most pagodas and buildings in the middle elevations of Nepal are constructed from brick which, until recently, was the most common building material. The rosy glow of pink brick homes dotting the terraced fields of the Kathmandu Valley at sunset is one of the valley's most memorable images.
Here, the buildings around the Swayambunath stupa also known as Monkey Temple.

Bonjour Vincent,
Amicalement, Brigitte

Hello Vincent. A wonderful picture with the dominating color red. Outstanding composes. The gentleman before the house is the ape. Here is its district. Very beautifully and worth seeing. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hi Vincent,
Good use of the shallow DOF to bring out the monkey looking directly at you, so typical of Swayambhunath.

Well spotted. His face really does match the buildings :) I love the expression on his face. I think he is sizing you up. Good use of DOF.
I took some monkey shots in Costa Rica, many of them blurred because of the low light in the forest and their fast movement. When I finally get round to them I'm hoping there will be at least one to share. I really appreciate this as I know how difficult it is to take a decent photo of them.

Good one Vincent...as all others have said, the use of DOF is good & the matching of the red colour is very interesting. I had taken some pictures of monkeys of Lepakshi temple, some of which I'd posted here..same breed. Good one!

Salut Vincent,

Hello Vincent,
this is a beautiful portrait of this little monkey with his thoughts far away from you and your camera. It's amazing how they manage to have so much of human on their expressions.
I like the way how you manage to enhance his colours and hair while keeping some of the facades shapes and colours.
Cheers.

Salut Vincent, excellent capture of this fellow's pose, looking over the shoulder. Perfect use of the shallow dof. Love his sharp expression against the blurred architectural background. Good work!

J'aurai juste davantage décentré l'animal...
Bonne soirée,
Stéphanie.
