Photographer’s Note
Another image from one of my favorite countries and one of my favorite mountains, Ama Dablam. This majestic mountain can look very different depending on where your looking from, but is stunning from any angle. Here I've chosen to include the valley floor which is at 4135m. The river flowing at the bottom of the image is Imja Khola, it gets its source from the glaciers on Everest a few kms away. Ama Dablam itself is not considered one of the big peaks at a mere 6856m but for me it is one of the grandest mountains I've seen.
The first image I posted of Ama Dablam is a horizontal composition and can be found here.

So this is one the most beautiful mountains in the world according to many climbers? It has nice lines and the setting is nothing short of spectacular. A very nice picture with good colors and light. Nice work Spiros :-)

Hi Spiros,
Many many thanks for sharing such a nice view of snow capped mountain. Great framing, great great composition, excellent colour combination and hence a super great picture. Specially I like combination of blue sky and its impact on snow capped mountain.
Keep it up

Wow. Thank you for the link to other photos of Ama Dablam. Amazing view. The river on the bottom (I think it is a river) adds so much too. Stunning!

Hi Spiros,
Majestic it is indeed ! The photo is well framed for such a view with a good bottom up progression, I like the foreground bottom river that equilibrates well in terms of highlights, I find the brown tones in the middle possibly a bit dark, but I'm currently not viewing this photo on a good screen.
Have a nice day,
JEan-Yves

Hello, Spiros--
Great work here, you did well to hold the river in the frame, it keeps enough interest in the foreground to make this a complete picture rather than just another close-up or a picture of Ama Dablam with a bland foreground. Where was this taken from?
Thanks!

Beautiful picture of one of the most picturesque mountain on earth!
Good sense of scale with the river at the bottom.
I've red that the glacier lakes in Sagarmatha are getting biger, due to global warming, and that some of them begin to threaten the villages under. Is this one in this case?

Hello Spiros,
Great :) Ama Dablam is without any doubt one of the more beautiful peak of Himalaya. Your view is really well done. I specially like the contrast between the shadows and the lightened zones. And what to say about the blue lake : a real jewel ...
Best regards, Laurent.
