Photographer’s Note

I think this picture is a little soft on focus, but I liked the subjects here. This mother and her son were circumambulating the Swayambunath stupa near Kathmandu. I think she is holding votive wicks for the oil lamps. It was a cool and crisp morning in Kathmandu.

The expressions on the faces of mother and son are nice - there's concentration and serenity. A quiet moment very nicely captured in rich colours. The softness is apparent but is no problem here. Good job, Caleb.

Yes the subjects here is great the wear they clothes by strange way and the look of there eyes seems that have and interested job they have to do it .. well done Caleb

Nice dual portrait and an interesting setting. You have really shown the textures well, especially on the prayer wheels above her head.

I remember coming back from Asia in '87, with photos of nose rings, thinking how exotic they would appear. Little did I know they were just about to start becoming "fashion statements" "Hey, look at me!) rather than a normal part of your culture. I still much prefer them in their original etting.

I wish it is a little sharper. Having said that, I like this because of the fact that they are not looking at your direction and the details in the background. Good shot!

The person traveling with me at the time got bitten by the monkeys there.. She had to go to the American hospital to get antirabies shot..

The focus doesn't bother me. it's indeed a great moment you captured here. It;s a greta pair and I like the early morning light.

there is a lot of interesting things in this picture - all those things around thos people, their clothes, those rings in her nose... again wonderful colors, interesting grain.. very good!
