Woman in Field Photo

Photographer’s Note

A woman working the rice fields on the north side of Phewa Tal Lake in Pokhara. Here you can rent a motorcycle for about $3 a day. One of my favorite things to do was drive out into the country, bring my camera, and pull over to the side of road whenever I saw something interesting. I'd often see groups of women, dressed in bright, BRIGHT reds, working the fields together. I found this woman, however, working this field alone. The greens here are even more brilliant in person than in the photo. This shot was taken from long ways off, hence the lack of sharpness, but I still like the subject.

very vivid and the green,goes really well with the lady's red cloths.not really very sharp but,no doubt,a very nice picture.

Wow! Women from the third world countries work physically hard to earn a living and manage their families. This is equsitely composed with good colors. Congratulations and best wishes.

Wonderful colors, the colors of India and Nepal. I like the point of view, the fact the she´s involve in the environment where she lives. I also like the framing and how you have play with the focus here, the unsharp green of the background allow us to see what is around her but at the same time to concentrate on her. It´s incredible how the hardest works in the so called third world are usually made by women. Thanks James.
