Photographer's Note

On the trail to Mount Everest Base camp. This shot shows the narrow little trail that you have to follow on this trek, and how busy it has become. When I was there is was very late in the season, which normally ends in December because of snow and cold weather. Even at that time, the trail was quite crowded, and I can only imagine what it was like in the peak months of September and October.

The mountain in the distance is Lhotse, which is the 4th highest mountain in the world at 8,500m. The altitude of the trail at this point (just north of Pangboche) is about 4,200m.
