A couple of Yaks above Kyanjin Gompa (3850 metres) at the head of the Langtang valley.
The area is really dry, with loads of thorn bushes - no problems for the Yaks with their hairy jackets, but I had to be a wee bit more canny thrashing around in shorts. The mountains around were totally spectacular.
In the village is a Yak cheese 'factory', the cheese is quite hard and totally delicious.
Scanned in from a photgraph taken on a wee compact. |
