[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the Manang valley on the (slightly) less popular side of the Annapurna range, taken when I was walking the Annapurna circuit - a 3 week trek around the entire Annapurna range.

This is scanned from a very old and abused negative, which has taken quite a lot of work to get in a (almost) presentable state. I just spent about an hour removing hundreds of dust speks and some large areas of discolouration - the joys of digital manipulation.

Splendid view and photo. The highlights of the cloud formation stands out over the misty mountain. All these showed nicely because of good composition.

Very nice composition. The highlights of the winding stream gives a good perspective to the mountains.

Backlighting usually is not so great for landscapes, but it works well here, probably due to the smoke rising from the village. It's a great shot, David, I think your hour was well spent.

Hi David,
It is still fine!
Nice tones, light and good framing.

Wow! such a fantastic scenery,,
you have a wonderful POV here David.. a great capture really..Your pictures really make me to have a big desire to go to these places...
i love the clouds, the mountains, the village here.. Another Shangri La for me!! :)
best wishes..
(PS. I think David there is a bit blue cast in the photo overall, so i tried to remove this a bit without touching the sky in the WS. Please have a look! :-)
