Wheeling and dealing, a photo from Bagmati, Central

Photographer's Note

This photo was taken amongst all the hustle and bustle of daily life in Thamel in central Kathmandu. It was not easy to catch such a quiet moment - so often I would have the frame composed and then a motorbike, a taxi, a rickshaw or a pedestrian would pass in front of the camera! Such are the joys of travelling with a camera!

Perhaps there is some wheeling and dealing going on involving the fruit seller and the rickshaw drivers!

Hello Marlene,
This is such a typical scene: two people arguing about something and a crowd assembles, From all directions people are watching the people in the centre. This is the same Kathmandu I saw 37 years ago. I have a vague impression that there are more westernized signs these days.

This looks indeed like a very interesting and exotic place! Unlike my brother, I have never been here (and will probably never go there either), but this daily life scene is still very attractive.

bicycles are most useful, and we must use more those indeed,
people look very live, and red and yellow fruits are fresh and impressive,

A great daily life shot Marlene - good POV and colour and they show the serious business of trading as so often seen in the sub-continent region.

The constant struggle in the business of making a living is so evident in this excellent capture.

They have many fresh fruits for sell and eat at this city, lively shoot and good frame to the scene to show all people looking for the seller, not always have this opportunity, you shoot at the right time, thanks for sharing.
