Photographer’s Note
Pilgrimage to Kalilvastu, the home of the Lord Buddha. Picture 4
This stone is venerated by the local Hindus as a Shiva Lung, a representation of the penis of the god Shiva. Red die is pasted over it as an act of reverence. It stands near the center of the site, beside the remains of the ancient structure, which now houses Hindu gods. The local people come and pay reverence to this stone.

Olá Kevin, I wonder if it was my earlier critic that made you change the image of this post...I agree that this is a best composition, with the red stone making a nice balance with the fire. The false symetry makes a nicer reading.
See you soon,

Bonsoir Kevin
A well balanced image with the Shiva lingam and the flame coming out from the lamp oil in front of the ruin. I like the way the tree is deeply taking root in it and the peaceful atmosphere. Have you done something with the colors, on the left side, at the levels of the trees?
Cheers

Hi Kevin,
The photo is a little blur, but I understand the objective is learning from this picture the life of local people, thanks for sharing.

I like this composition very nepalese with the brick walls in decay and the ficus progressively "eating" the construction. The shiva lingam is also very typical, all revered and vovered with pujas. Quality could be a bit better especially in the back but this is a detail.

Bonjour, mon ami Kevin,
Une photo qui sort des sentiers battus, accompagnée d'une note fort intéressante.
J'aime également cette végétation, qui semble vouloir s'emparer des vestiges pour le protéger d'une destruction prochaine.
Amitiés.

Hi Kevin!
Another interesting shrine. I like the composition with the stone, the fire and then the wall in the backgrond. It seems very old, the tree is really tryng to win space. A simple but wonderful place I believe. Good work!

Hi Kevin,
The site is an interesting one (you'd find a lingam(as they say in the Hindu world) in a convent!!!) with nice layout of all elements.
The definition seems a bit low, but reasonable... As Marilyn pointed out, i see some PP in the trees (maybe originally a white sky?)
All the best Kev!
CU 2morrow
Laurent
