Photographer's Note

The Annapurna is a section of the Himalayas in north-central Nepal. The entire massif and surrounding area are protected within the 7,629 km2 Annapurna Conservation Area, the first and largest conservation area in Nepal. The Annapurna Conservation Area is home to several world-class treks, including the Annapurna Circuit.

This view can be seen while trekking from the Lhandruk village to Tolka. This is part of a not too difficult 3-day trek following the Birenthi-Ghandruk-Lhandruk-Dhampus route. Each stop offers a different perspective of the Annapurna mountain range.

Hello dear May,

What a breath taking view with exquisite light. The air must be so crisp and clean at the top of the world. I had no idea that you were heading down there. What lies in the near future? Any trips to North America?

What a clear view of the Annapurna!
The thick masses of clouds are blown over and the snowcapped peak looks majestically over the various mountain ranges.

You must be on top or the world Jayne, indeed such a stunning look in thin clean air with the majestic snow peak standouts strikingly as a strong focal. I love the sense of tremendous depth, dof, rich color tones and vastness of space blessed by such a brilliant light. The stretching cloud indeed dramatic and a real bonus there for extra oomph and the elements all add up to a fabulous shot and an excellent write-up too.
