Photographer's Note
Machapuchare or fish tail is a mountain in the Annapurna Himal of north central Nepal.
It is 6993 m high.
It is revered by the local population as particularly sacred to the god Shiva, and hence is off limits to climbing.

amazing mountain, the highest I saw had around 6,800 and was in chile.nice contrast between the branche and the natural monument. a photo in difficul conditions. I guess it would be better if you had left less light, the tree would be very dark but the shapes of the mountains will gain more visibility. anyway it is a nice view.

Ciao Miguel,
Am very familiar with this place and this mountain in Nepali means mountain with two peaks, from your POV is not known but the top of the mountain has two peaks and it is very difficult a mountain to climb ... great shot ... beautiful colors...
good evening...

Hello, Miguel!
Nepal... that's a place I really want to go someday! It doesn't have to be on top of these mountains, the base is enough to me. The snow mixed with the clouds makes the image really interesting! Wonderful job!

Bonsoir Miguel,
I have been there in 2000. Pokhara was wonderful and so was Sarankot. They had some bad floods there this year, & a whole village was washed away :-( I would use levels to reduce brightness & contrast on the snowy peak & sky, excluding the bottom right corner & using a large feather of 100+ pixels. Tfs!

Salut Miguel,
Des montagnes imposantes et somptueuses, on aimerait que le vent chasse un peu plus les nuages, la présence sur ton cadrage de ces feuillages vert apporte un bon premier plan et un peu de teintes complémentaires.

Hello Miguel,
you have composed this lovely picture very well. The shape of the distant sacred mountain and that of the tree on the foreground are very similar. Only the tree, with its closeness, clarity, vivid colour and texture represents reality on earth, while the mountain, distant, dimmer, imposing, piercing the clouds, represents something unapproachable and sublime. I love the textures on the snow-covered peaks.
All the best,
Ourania

No climbing? How about hiking? Too bad, this mountain range looks really beautiful and scary at the same time, and would be fun to explore it.
Anyway, wonderful DOF with the plant in the FG showing depth and with great care to the clarity at the top of this beautiful mountain mixing with the clouds. Looks like a frustrating shot to take with the strong light in all, but you pulled it off greatly Miguel.
