Photographer's Note

Phewa lake, the legendary and second largest lake in the Kingdom of Nepal is of glacial and tectonic origin roughly measuring 1.5 km by 4 km, remains a major source of all attractions in Pokhara. The enchanting lake is an idyllic playground offering the splendid view of the surrounding mountains, especially when the still water on calm days reflects the peaks of Annapurna Range perfectly, creating a double mirror image. Majestic, scenic and holy to the local Hindus, the lake is one of the picturesque spots of Nepal and is revered not only for its natural beauty but also for the spiritual importance attached to it.

As the light begins to fade and the day comes to a close, everything goes very silence when the flamming clouds seem to ignite into glorious blazing lake.

This is the peaceful ending of a day from Phewa Lake.....

Pure, perfect & serene. The water is so flat, it almost looks solid. Saturation of blue in the boats is just a bit too much, imho. But the lake and distance are just magical.

what a fantastic composition. the boats are placed perfectly across the picture and provide a wonderful focal point. the hills in the distance dip beautifully into the centre of the image. love the colours in the sky and the wonderful clouds. i think the blues are a little over saturated though, but a stunning picture overall with a very peaceful mood.

You're capturing well this lake scape by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see sentimantal/peaceful view of the lake and sky dyed to sunset. It's beautiful for the countless boat which is at anchor to a line and ridgeline of mountain in behind. And, the reflection projected to the water draws out an additional good effect in this image.

Thanks for giving pictures as sublime as this, a sunset on a superb POV, I love the alignment of these boats in the foreground, the blue color creates a perfect contrast with the warm tones of the sky and the reflections in the sea, magnificent DOF with distant horizon line and the line of mountains that is lost in the distance.

Talk about clouds with a golden tinge...
This is a masterly exposed photo of a fantastic evening sky and its equally beautiful reflections in a very calm lake. The line of similarly painted boats form a great foreground. Their orange details look like reflections as well, but I suppose they must have been painted that way.

splendid atmosphere on one of the best lakes on earth Pak!
Brings me back to 1983 and 88 when I spent several weeks there for trekking and hanging around a,d renting a boat for a few rupees a day ;=],
For a man with your skills the quality could be better,but ok...I forgive you because thats not the point here isnt it? ;=]
