This is a scene from the trail to Mount Everest Base Camp. The main trail passes through many small villages along the way, often with only 4 or 5 buildings. This shows spectacular mountains you see along the way. The title refers to the mountain, Ama Dablam (6856m). The trail itself is very rocky and steep in sections, and everywhere very dusty, at least in the non-monsoon season! You can also see the huge amount of rocks there, which are used for fences, walls, and houses, and there are still a lot of rocks left over.

great view of the beautiful Ama Dablam, one of the most amazing mountains.. . and you capture the trail so well. It jogs my memory and takes me right back there...
I find all the elements well placed in this shot, and they combine in a pleasing way.

Superb clarity and sharpness. The wall leads us nicely into the frame. The compo is therefore first class and the light and shadows wonderful - excellent exposure. Very nice work indeed.

Just like for David, this picture brings back many souvenirs to my mind. I like the POV you've chosen all the typical elements that you have included here: the stone wall in the foreground, the nepalese house above and beautiful Ama Dablam dominating the whole scene.
Have a nice Sunday.

Hi Alvin. That sure is a massive and spectacular mountain. The light looks pretty harsh but you kept it under control. The scan turned out good too. Nice oldie Alvin!

Alvin thanks for posting an insightful photo showing the topography of the mountianside. You did well in capturing some depth perspective in this photo. A very nice place to collect rocks. Quite the remote place for sure!

Hello Alvin, this is an attractive shot of this beautiful and very distinctive mountain. The track and wall leads the eye well - first to the house and then up to the mountain itself. Stunning scenery well captured.

Hi Alvin - breathtaking view, the mountain looks awesome, though the house is modern and rather nondescript, the stone walls are full of charm.

Great view of over this beautiful mountain. The Ama Dablam looks so stunning as it towers over the rest of the scenery. Great view from the trail with so much detail and great sharpness. Beautiful work, Alvin!

Good vertical compo to emphasize the grandeur of this scenery, Alvin. Interesting how the rather harsh light seems to work out as a friend rather than a foe on this one, and the foreground wall is well included to emphasize the lead-in provided by the curving gravel path. The snow-capped Ama Dablam provides an appropriately majestic feel to this view, and the hut is well included, too.

Superb depth in this low angle shot. I like the lighting and shadow effects and the way the eye travels up the path and into the frame. The sharpness level seems just right and the building is well seen. Your scan was good, as the details are all there. Very fine work, Alvin.

This does look like a harsh environment. The winding stone wall is eye-catching and memorable.
Nice view with the mountain in the back!
