A communal washing area in Namche Bazaar where I saw clothes and vegetables being washed side-by-side. I say no more!

An interesting study of life in a different culture, when I first opened the image I thought that it looked like clothes and food being washed in the same area, your note confirmed it. Hmmmm, detergent tasting veggies, now that is a new taste sensation.
The capture makes a bright colourful scene all the same, the clothing of the women is in stark contrast to the man.
A nicely laid out composition, I particularly like the very dark shadow area with the protruding bright blue on the left of frame.
Good sharp high quality image.

Very colorful daily life scene and a lovely light captured here without blowing any highlights. The rock wall behind makes a great backdrop for those colorful clothes and the green vegetables. One wonders how clean the water is for the food with all that clothes washing going on as well. The large basket makes a strong focal point. It's nice to see different age groups and both sexes represented in this scene.

lovely daily snapshot with these activities to take place at this village. But you can see that the woman with her washing clothes, stands behind from the other that washing the vegetables.A good reportage shot.

fine scene of the daily life in Nepal. Not every one in the world owns a washing machine or has flowing water from the line. Most of us has forgotten these facts.
Thanks for showing us this picture with its great colours and the fine exposure.
Have a fine sunday evening

A really irresistable motive with all the action and, of course, all the colours. A very worthy TE contribution!

wow! LOL clothes and vegetables washed side-by-side! Incredible! Excellent composition, by the way, IMHO :) A bit too dark in some parts of the image, but it's OK, I guess :) The day seemed very sunny!
How many more incredible, unusual things exist in the world? Thanks to photographers who show them to us to learn about the world better :)
Warmest greetings from cold and snowy Moscow!
Are you going to take part in the "Good Mood Day on TE?" today?

Catching up once again...
Very nice colours and a fine composition of two young people facing left and the older ones facing right. Maybe it even says something about the political situation in Nepal...?
An interesting glimpse of daily life in Nepal.

Lovely picture, good local activity and colour. I was told that turning off running water was bad luck, it caused havoc in the hospital, they would break taps rather than turn them off.
All the best

I can pick the exact spot this photo was taken. I too saw many people cleaning things in this stream, running on the side of the settlement going past the marketplace and near the entrance gateway and chorten. What a great little place Namche was. Your colour brings out the life and vibrance of this place. I hope to post some photos of Namche life soon also. Nepal was a place I am not likely to forget in a hurry, a real travel destination. Your photos are a great compliment to the memories I now have. Well done,
