Cho Oyu, or the Turquoise Goddess as Tibetans call it, is the sixth highest mountain in the world at 8201 metres above sea level. Cho Oyu lies in the Himalayas and is 20 km west of Mount Everest, at the border between China (Tibet) and Nepal.
The mountain was first climbed on October 19, 1954, via the north-west ridge by Herbert Tichy, Joseph Jöchler and Sherpa Pasang Dawa Lama of an Austrian expedition. Cho Oyu was the fifth 8000 metre peak to be climbed, after Annapurna in June 1950, Mount Everest in May 1953, Nanga Parbat in July 1953 and K2 in July 1954.
Just a few kilometres west of Cho Oyu is Nangpa La (at 5716 metres), a glaciated pass that serves as the main trading route between the Tibetans and the Khumbu's Sherpas. Due to its proximity to this pass and the generally moderate slopes of the standard northwest ridge route, some climbers consider Cho Oyu to be the easiest 8,000 metre peak to climb, and it is a popular objective for professionally guided parties.

well composed and chosen POV for this beautiful view. What a wonderful vista and stunning mountains. Perfectly balanced shot. Well done!

The small chorten with the prayer flags flying out across the valley creates a good focal point. I found it difficult to handle the exposure on snow covered peaks as such with OE being in many results. The serpentine river looks good down below

A spectacular framing to catch the majesty of this mythical mountain of the Himalayan Range.
Your POV to more than 5000 meters of altitude is impressive, and I believe that due to small density of the air the photo has a stunning luminosity and a few incredibly beautiful colors.
The prayer flags give a touch of color to this hard landscape.

very attractive composition as usually.
There are so many lines here made by the paths, the flags etc. Incredibly rich geometry. Interesting color tones under well saturated blue sky.
Very impressive capture, TFS

Love those mountains in the bg, terrific location for photography. Lovely composition and great detail.
Wonderful jagged white snow peaked with a rich blue sky above, the splash of brilliant colors of the prayer flags make the shot and the contrast is superb. The shrine balances the image composition. Marvellous scenery! Well done.

Perfect framing as always, and luminous impression of the snow-covered mountain is supreme. A chorten with prayer flags is expertly put in the excellent place. Beautiful indeed!
Best wishes, Hisashi
