Photographer's Note

Pashupatinath Temple is a Hindu temple of god Shiva, located on the banks of the Bagmati River in the Kathmandu, Nepal. The temple is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites list. Pashupatinath Temple's existence dates back to 400 A.D. Here, the entrance to the main temple at the Pashupatinath site is shown. Entrance is allowed to Hindus only. Nandi is the name for the bull which serves as the vehicle of the god Shiva and as the gate keeper of Shiva. Statue of a bull can be found in front of many Hindu temples. Besides the live bull in the foreground, golden plated statue of a bull can be seen through the temple's gates. God Shiva is shown above the gate with trident in his hands.
