Photographer's Note

Pashupatinah is the Varanasi of Nepal, a holy place of cremation on the banks of Bagmati river. Funeral pyres are visible in the foreground, the river had a low level of water and was dirty during winter season. Dead bodies must be dipped three times into the river before cremation. Many relatives who join the funeral procession can bath in the river or sprinkle the holy water on their bodies at the end of cremation. The Bagmati purifies the people spiritually. Source : wiki
