Today is Maha Shivaratri 'Great Night of Lord Shiva', The Hindu Great God. It is celebrated on the 6th night of the dark Phalgun (Feb or March) every year. Mahashivaratri marks the night when Lord Shiva performed the 'Tandava'. It is also believed that on this day Lord Shiva was married to Parvati Ma. This is taken at Pashupatinath, a world heritage site and also one of the most important temple for Hindus. These Sadoos come from all over the world to worship on this day at Pashupatinath. They smoke Hashish and also sell them to the smokers. Today, it is almost legal to smoke on this day as Lord Shiva as it is said that the Lord himself also smokes cannabis. You can see hundreds of Sadoos on this day and lots of photographers visit to take pictures.

Feels and looks like I have had some, your image is very powerful with this guy lost in his Hashish smoke.

Hello Ravin - a unique image here, and well done in B&W, using the smoke as a texture for the shot. The man himself becomes really mysterious here, with only his eyes and hair showing clearly as the rest of him disappears in haze. Thanks for a really good closeup.

This one is terrific, Ravin. Superb focus on the eye, all the rest suitably hazy...:) This works wonderfully in bl/w.

Interesting combination of light & shadow, emphasising the mystery of the devotion.
