| Two Tibetan Buddhist nuns at the Monkey temple. They invited me and my friend's son to visit the monastery where they were staying. It was near dusk, and they had to leave to pray. They informed us, the monastery was just outside the front steps to the Monkey Temple. I was supposed to meet a friend for dinner, but we thought a few minutes detour back home was ok. Turns out, nuns can only walk around holy places in a counter clock wise fashion. Even though the monastery was close, we walked around the entire mountain in a circle to get there. It took a long, long, time to reach the monastery. We had tea, I rushed off to meet a friend, who never showed up ...... life in Nepal! I wish I had just stayed longer with them. |
