Hej Gert,
Nice to see your scanner working again and noe you are really digging deeper into your endless stock of interesting pictures. This is a remarkable scene with excellent treatment of the light. Not many photos here on TE can challenge this one, when it comes to this combination of age and quality!

Hej Gert,
so, your scanner has been repaired finally, and now you're back to scanning your oldies- these incredible historical documentary photos!
I thought to say that I like the composition very much... but then I thought: it's not that kind of photo to judge about any technical qualities. Such photos have a different value.
An almost traditional, rhetoric question: "What may have become of those people in the photo, after so many years..?"
I like the moment - and the energetic action :)
Ha en trevlig söndag!
Kind regards,
Elena

Hej Gert,
Even if 1972 was a long time ago. This looks like it could have been much earlier, perhaps with the exception of the little girl to the right. It is an excellent documentary shot and it would be interesting to see what the place looks like today. The B & W works well here and you make very good use of the lighing conditions. The women and their activities really stand out against the darker background.TFS and have a nice Sunday!

hi gert,
I went to India three times for work and I must say I felt the difference in culture (thank God - think about the horror of a world that's all the same...) - but I can't even imagine how it must have been travelling in 1972 through Asia...
and I think Fanni's question too: what might have become of these women and girls...?
I like the light a lot, even if it makes it harder to detect the background.

Ciao Gert,
I remain always fascinated by your image, you have a particular power to capture scenes of daily life, and then the first love, "the film."....the odor of the acids, the magic to see to appear the image on the paper, how much memoirs.
thanks for sharing

hello gert,
this has a timeless quality enhanced by being in black & white. A well balanced composition with the raised arm of the woman holding the circular thrasher creating the apex of a triangle consisting of the two people closest to her. There is so much life in this photograph. As people have already said, a good documentary shot.
best regards,
Bev

Hi Gert,
An interesting series about your 72 trip... Here a nice street scene wich you can see only outside Kathmandu nowadays! Black and white is a suitable choice

Gert,
Dynamic, Black & White and full of energy. A temple? in the distance and the pile of wheat. Very important capture.

Hi Gert
Again women are hard at work! Such a common sight in so many countries to see women winnowing grain. Another documentary style photo - this time from one of my favourite destinations. Tfs again, Marlene
