Photographer's Note

A tibetan pilgrim circumbulating around the Great Stupa of Bodnath, in Nepal's Kathmandu valley. The stupa is a major pilgrimage place for Tibetan Buddhists, for its construction was linked to the establishment of Buddhism in Tibet. Devotees walk around the stupa in a clockwise direction, turning each of the hundreds of prayer wheels around the stupa inscribed with the Tibetan prayer "Om Mani Padme Hum" (roughly translated as "hail to the jewel in the lotus"). Some have their own hand prayer wheel like the one above.
