By early morning Dhubar Square in Bhaktapur is alive with goat-traders, merchants, and school children, and this orange saddhu fixture who hasn't moved for years. I saw him sitting in the same place as three years before. The sage's trishula and drum cast a sharp shadow on these old wooden doors.

Impressive sharpness, Caleb. Composition is excellent pushing the man to the edge. Could perhaps use some fill-flash for the face. Elan's built-in flash is excellent for these moments. Regards,

Really impressive exotic portrait. Superb scenery and clothes of a man. Excellent colours.

This chap looks rather severe! The colour of his clothes dazzles in the sunlight and you have captured well his pose and expression. Good compo too, I like the way you have left space on one side to show off the background and set the scene.

This is a wonderful one. Great perspective with the brick wall, and of course the expression is severe and powerful. Great colors too, cheers,

What a fancy shawl. Crisp colours Caleb, I especially like the shadow of his trishula on the wall behind.

Super sharp, painterly shot, C. WHat fascinated me here is how with the golden light, the mand and the brick wall behind share some of the same tonal values. You remembered him from3 years before? Was there a scar or something that...?

You’ve got my full attention here, as I would like to visit Nepal one of these days, and your photo is an enticing provocation to speed my way down there...
The warm light allows superb contrast and vivid colors. The expression of your subject seems serene and serious, but not wary or intimidating, which create a natural portrait. As you’ve mentionned in your note, the trishula cast a very striking shadow that reinforce the spirituality of your scene, but in a subtil and imaginative way.
I think it’s interesting to see the perspective of your POV being integrated through the yarn this sadhu holds in his hands.
Nicely done Caleb!

i also like the compo with this man on the very left side of the pic.
