Photographer’s Note
Some of you will remember my previous post with A mother with her 2 kids from atop of a pagoda.
After sometimes, I went down and here is a closer view of the little boy sitting inside a basket, carried by his mother.

Dear Marilyn,
It's the light here what caught my attention. If it is landscape or portraits, everytime it's the light which is the most important thing. A landscape is already there, you only have to wait. With a portrait you need interaction with the person, or in this case the child. A smile, full of live, full of joy, sitting in a basket 1000% better than the workshops, a beautiful tanaka, stunning colour contrast in red/brown....but at the end it's the light what makes the photo.
I don't comment that often your images, sorry for that, but this one is to good to let it pass. Biggest compliment i can give you that i wish it was mine..!!!
A beautiful photo.
Regards, Henk

Glad you shoot in RAW, so much better than an ordinary jpg.

Hello Marilyn,
very cute moment in the quality of a portrait and it is nothing else as a portrait in an unusual way. Wonderful composition a bit out of centre in lovely sharpness and his smile (also in the workshop) is the final winner. Like Henk I love the light here, the line of shadow of the basket on him makes it so real.

Hi Marilyn.
This is such a nice picture! Just from looking at your other pictures of this, you have really given us something to enjoy. The 'Complementary Photo', for me, tells a really good story of this family and their daily life. The little boys expression in the 'Different version' is just great! You captured that very well!
As for this picture, I also really like his expression and the whole idea of carrying your child in a basket! The colours are just fantastic with the golden tones. Also your depth of field is great and adds something more to this picture!
Thank you so much for these wonderful pictures. You have made me really want to go to Myanmar!

hi Marilyn, who couldnt fail to stop by this one, but its not about a cute kid, it has to be more than that and here its about the light. I think the framing could have been more ambitious but you have captured a fine image.

Salut Marilyn,

Tres belle photo.

Salut Marilyn,
I like really this beautiful red color tone, of course the expression of the little boy putting thanaka cream on his nose and cheeks.
The blur of the background by Sigma lens feels a little double-line blur, though it is trifling. But definitely a successful shot.
Have a nice day, Hisashi

Bonjour Marilyn,
A fabulous portrait of the little boy. The basket in which he is ensconced appears to be the gondola of a small hot air balloon. Very good colors, resolution and composition. Warm regards, and best wishes for a rejuvenating and restful Sunday,

Hi Marilyn!
I like all of them! The smile of the little boy here is just perfect. I like a lot his expression on the other but the light here is very good and the composition is perfect, showing a part of the basket.

Bonsoir Marilyn,

Bonjour Marilyn
Superb portrait of the young boy. The light is simply delicious, soft & warm, lighting up the warmth of his smile. The closerup version in the WS is also very nice, but I do prefer this. Excellent use of shallow DOF as well, to isolate him from the BG. A delightful capture!
