Photographer’s Note

Mrauk U has limited elelctricity, her house and thin blankets may not offer much warmth during the chilly nights, her few cooking pots may never be full, her broom her only household equipment. Yet every morning she and her women neighbours are out sweeping the streets of the village. I watched with admiration and thought how much I take for granted.

Hi Elaine. A simple mundane task has been transformed into a morning prayer. The light has created an other worldly scene. Touches of golden highlights take us to another reality, as if we are in a temple and not a humble village.Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Elaine.
An absolutely wonderful picture. The sun's rays coming through the trees, and the small illuminated spaces on the hut and the woman's back, look other-worldly. Such gentle light and colour seem appropriate to this humble routine; it's almost as if we are 'spying' on her, all is so still and quiet. You bring all this out remarkably well in this shot. Superb.

Hi Elaine!
Mrauk U ,famous for the morning mist,the magic light and scenes like this.When I was there,walking around at sunrise I loved too the smell of the many little fires.
Your POV is excellent here and the composition wonderful with the light at her back and the house.
I have so many travel destinations in my mind,but I think I`ll end there in november.I feel so relaxed with these wonderful people.Now I`m shocked what happens to Tibet.....and I`ll wait for fixing my plans.

The light and the atmosphere are splendid, I'm struggling with those kinds of photos (PP not easy), you show me a good example - and yes, some 20 years back : I still remember those rays in north Burma, it'll stay in my memory forever... Never been back, but will eventually !

What delicate light you captured here! The shafts fall diagonally & lights up part of the wall of the thatched cottage quite magically. Simply beautiful rural scene, so pure & so serene...I feel like almost being there. Wonderful!

Very beautiful Elaine. And what a superb capture in terms of technicalities. Capturing those rays of light isn't easy while controlling the rest of the scene and you did a great job here. The composition is also great, but the light is what really moves me. Congratulations for this one.

that is probably the type of air and light that we always would strive to have when shooting a great atmosphere. Fantastic how the sun rays are brushing through diagonally and stroking the women's back and the shack's wall. Latter is actually what makes this an outstanding shot. The golden spot is marvelous!

A wonderful shot! The soft golden morning rays penetrating through the dust and falling on the hut, the feeling of a cool calm morning, all look so pleasing. I have been hoping to get a similar shot for quite some days. Thanks for sharing.
