The beautiful warm light and the depth of the eye make a real success of this portrait.
The upper point of view is also well seen here.
Excellent, Sohrab !

wow, what a nice portrait Sohrab, great use of shallow DOF, well focused and really well focused, pro stuff. excellent.

Sohrab, très beau portrait avec une pof très bien maitrisé. Et la photo est très lumineuse, c'est nouveau :)

Beautiful portrait Sohrab. I like the light in this picture better than your previous. Also I like your point of view in this picture; a bit higher than the subject which forces him to look upwards.

Like it! The healing brush tool in Photoshop could have zapped the zit! So I did a workshop!

I can't decide which of the two I prefer, they both stand strong on their own merits but paint very difficult portraits, this one being more uplifting. I guess I prefer the shape his mouth has taken in this one, less tense; perhaps he's finished his food? Anyhow the perspective looking down is great. I say keep the zit; if we're practicing social documentary then it's all got to remain; warts and all.

very good portrait of Burmese man again. The look is directional and composition is 3D. Without technical detail, it seems soft and lost contract on the lower right.

This is a very good portrait Sohrab. Very nice light and a sort of classic looking pose. I wish it were a little larger though and I wonder what this subject would look like had you been able to find a little traditional looking pose. I am sure it would have been very good as well.

A very nice portrait! I think what makes this so good (for me) is the soft blue of his shirt and the khaki color of his hat...they blend together very well...with his wonderful expression.

sohrab, he is so handsome ..
joking :)(ok he is also)..wonderful picture..light is beautiful, his look is great, composition is perfect and your depth is like magic here...

I like this, and I think others like it, because he's a nice-looking boy. For the same reason we like photos of sunsets, of flowers, and of kittens. You've done everything right, technically. But I don't think it stands out as a great photo, or even as a personal photo that only you could have taken - unlike your photo of the kick-boxer, or of the boys playing in the moat. It's just an attractive boy, technically well made, but...it shows nothing more than that. What is this boy's life, what marks him out? Your photo of the kick-boxer told me all those things, but this is in the top 20% of photos, not the top 1% - and you've shown you can reach that 1%, so keep your standards up there!
(I guess I'm saying you've reached a point where good work isn't good enough - you now must try for great work, every time!)

Very very beautiful portrait, with nice warm colours and a good use of DOF. Congrats.

Excellent closwe-up. I love the POV and the close cropping. Could use a touch more sharpness in the eyes, but the lighting is fantastic.

Great portrait. You can see a touch of sadness in his face. This picture in all its simplicity definately brings up a good deal of emotion.
