Photographer’s Note

Located in the north-western region of Myanmar, on the Indian border, is Sagaing Division.

Sagaing is home to many historical stupas and today is known as a religious centre, with dozens of Buddhists nunneries and monasteries as well as an important monastic hospital.

I took this picture of the lone fisherman on the way up to the hill where the numerous temples are dotted around.

Thats a superb perspective Arif and a very lovely one tht give us such a nice view of the river and the boat. the colours are great and so is the composition

Hello Arif,

Similarly to the last post of yours I critiqued, I enjoy the slimline view and the black strip frame. This is an original take of these simple canoes. I had opportunities to take shots like this in the Thai floating markets, but the lighting was too direct and the waters were too cluttered. It was important to include something other than just the boat and that was done by adding the green foliage. I like it that the photo is impersonal and the subject's face is shielded form view; it makes it more mysterious.
