Burma child monk studying in his monestary school.
completly unaware of my presence while I was taking the picture.
High ISO gives charming grainy look to this image. |

Hi Raphael,
I like color balance and natural mood in the entite.
If I say the desire, it's better to give the contrast for drawing the image out more because it seems dark tone a bit. I tried a workshop, yet this is my taste and I hope you don't mind.
Regards,
mikio
Hi Raphael, very well composed, quite closed-up with all the tones one expects from temple scene in Myanmar, but my critique is that since it is as much portrait as environmental, his gaze down, instead of inducing a mood, creates a distance. IMO, but that was a case of eyes making contact with the camera.

I like the composition. Unlike kinginexile I don't mind the gaze creating distance. IMO, the child is supposed to be concentrated on book and, therefore, be distant from the viewer.
I believe the picture would improve if book was within DOF and the child would not fiddle a pen. But, probably, Raphael did not have a chance to change it, considering it's a candid shot in available lighting.
