Photographer’s Note
There are two preeminent ancient religious cities in Southeast Asia: Bagan in Burma and Angkor in Cambodia. Both sites are notable for their expanse of sacred geography and the number and size of their individual temples. For many visitors Bagan is the more extraordinary of the two cities and this because of the view. Sprawling across a vast dusty plain, the ruins of Bagan are unhidden. There being no trees to obstruct the view, one may gaze over forty square miles of countryside, upon literally thousands of temples.

Hi Alena. It was not possible to turn to the next page in the thumbnails when i saw this photo. And I was not disappointed. It's a beautiful photo and you can tell that there is some kind of connection between the look of the boy and the temples in the background. Colors and contrast is good and there is a fine sunlight in the background. Composition is good and headmotive is very sharp and background slightly blurred but you can still tell what it shows. Fine shadows in the red clothing. Fine portrait, good work and thank's for sharing this moment and story with us. Greetings from Denmark, Jens :-)

Privet Alena,
the colours are great in this picture,
the composition,
the crop,
the only thing disturbing is that you cannot see the boys eyes.
How do you like Myanmar?

I love the colours of this one Alena. They are very vivid and match the scene perfectly. I'm guessing that the light was bright. Did you use a flash on the monk?
Do you have any pics of the buildings of Yangon. I seem to be the only person on Trekearth posting non temple and portrait shot (nothing wrong with that though) and feel quite alone!
