Photographer’s Note
Hello my friends,
today I'd like to present you this nice young lady.
She is sitting on a bench on a bridge called U-Bein Bridge. It is a 1.2 km wooden footbridge and the longest teak bridge in the world.
She painted her face with Thanaka-Paste.
Most women have this Paste made of bark of a special tree in her faces, it's their make-up.
Yesterday I saw the same girl on a shot from Sabine (Bien) and I promissed her to show also my little girl, what do you think Sabine, is it the same girl than on your nice shot?
Thanks for looking and giving me some feedback, thanks and bye.

hi Wishnu, photo in hard condition. It is not easy to shot faces to be natureal and interesting in same time. Your shot is wonderful becouse this yung girl look like an old woman. Too much make up but she is still child. Good quality with vivid coloures. TFS

She is getting to be a mini TE celebrity I think...I have seen several shots of her now.
You have captured good detail and a nice melancholic expression here in this nice, slightly sad portrait
Cheers

It's a great picture, sabne and beutifully composed. I think I know why she is becoming a star. This has occured before with identical pictures appearing from Burma, always near popular tourists sites. It come from people making a business of dressing up, so that they can earn money from tourist photographers. As with the previous pictures frommandalay, this may not show a real tradition at all (I doubt that it doese) but a neat trick to earn some tourist money. Anyway it is an amusing portrait. yes, there she is again, she features in Sabine's shot and Tina's and mine, and mayeb others, one of the most photographed little gorls in Burma i would imagine. nevertheless, a nice portrait with a well chosen DOF.

Hallo Sabine,
sehr schönes Portrait von einer burmesischen
Pippi Langstrumpf. Richtig niedlich.

What a great show. Terrific details in her facial details and the adorning in the hair and the face. Very crisp and nice DOF - ensuring the girl remains the focus of attention. Thanks for sharing!

This is one of the most interesting portraits I've seen on Treakearth. Her face paint is very nice, and I love her subtle smile. She is the Mona Lisa of Myanmar. Great capture.

I have only ever seen photos of this paste applied in single large blocks to the cheeks, this is far more decorative. The girl wears a knowing, wise-beyond-her-years expression and you have managed to coax a faint smile and wonderful directness. Nice and sharp and very beautiful.

Hello Wishnu. A wonderful photo. The face painted with Tanaka is a small work of art. I remember gladly the love-worth and peaceful people in Myanmar. Are at the same time furious over the brutality of the military junta. I wish the country peace and normality. Best regards, Wolfgang.
