Photographer’s Note

Hello everybody - perhaps somebody of you remember me.
I haven't posted for a longer time, I'm very active in TN and TL - but today I'd like to show again one of my shots.

In May we visited the wonderful Myanmar/Burma.
Here you can see the Hsin-Byu-Me-Pagoda in Mingun.
Mingun is a small iland you can go by ship from Mandalay. Here you find this beautiful white Pagoda wich was built in 1816.
It's exceeding architecture is symobising the Cosmos - the Mountain Meru. Around you see 7 wavelike terraces symbolising the 7 mountains enclosing Mount Meru.

It was so wonderful to stand on the top and having a great view over Mingun.
But be careful! - You have to go without shoes - and it's very hot up there, better watch the view in the shadow ;-)

You have returned with a bang, Sabine.This wonderful undulating architechture in warm creamy white and the cool blue of the sky.The colour is delicious and the composition really nice. Most of all , it is a great TE record of an important place with a good note. Mount Meru,as an image of the universe. Great to see you back. Regards Kevin

Hi Sabine,
ich habe gesehen, dass du fast ein Jahr icht gepostet hast hier auf TE. Ich bin eher hier bei TE zuhause.
Das ist ein sehr schönes Bild. Was für ein beeindruckendes Gebäude. Interessante Architektur.
Vieleicht schaust du ja wieder öfter hier auf TE vorbei. Deine Bilder aus Asien sind sicher eine Bereicherung.

i was wondering where lonely planet got the cover shot for their myanmar book. now i know! :)

i'm not happy with the horizon, it needs to be straight, but the placement of the pagoda low in the frame is a good choice to give us lots of blue sky to frame it.

Great shot, nice angle with the lightning on the pagoda there. Great shot and good framing of a really beautiful building.

Hallo Sabine,
ein großartiges Bauwerk, in tollem Licht, mit gutem Kontrast, in interessantem Format. Wodurch sind die leichten Unschärfen im Randbereich entstanden? Bei Blende 14.0 müßte die Schärfentiefe bis Unendlich gehen.

Hola Sabine...that is certainly a very captivating shot of such an interesting location...beautiful lighting & colours.
Quality is awesome...National Geographic would certainly be happy with such production.
